The Westmont Economic Development Partnership invites our local business community to a presentation on our Village Signage Ordinance. The Village is looking into revisions to streamline code, reduce conflicting language and better address temporary signage.
With these goals in mind, the business community is encouraged to participate in the signage roundtable on March 15, 2017 at 8 a.m. at Village Hall, 31 W. Quincy St., (2nd floor meeting room), Westmont.
Here is an overview of the presentation. Please RSVP by clicking the button above.
Sign Ordinance Text Amendments
Background:
Over time, the existing code regulating signage has not been amended in a comprehensive manner, resulting in code that is difficult to comprehend, relies on interpretations, and is silent to emerging forms of advertisement.
Intent:
After an analysis of the existing code, propose and adopt new or amended code that is simple to regulate, is comparable to neighboring communities, and merges community visions with commercial success.
Discussion:
- Types of Signage: Wall, Ground and Temporary
- Business Needs vs. Community Visions
- Signage as Advertising
- Summary of Proposed Code Revisions
