Attendance: Alison Clemens, John Christianson, Larry Forssberg, Dr. Nancy A. Congdon, Au D., Gaye Wagner, Mary Ferguson, Dan Rattery, Shelly Lindsay, Mark Davis, Kate Anthony, Karen Spencer

1. Introductions, Agenda Additions & Approval of Minutes

All Attendees introduced themselves
Agenda Additions: Discussion on additional positions within the committee such as Recruit Chair and Social Media Chair
No July minutes.

2. New Business

A. Downers Grove Township (DGT):

Karen Spencer, Senior Service Coordinator-Karen’s primary role is outreach, social services, and programing for the DGT Senior’s.
Karen updated the SRC on the different benefits of the DGT such as DuPage Sr. Citizen Council, Meals on Wheels (Community Dining to begin at the DGT Center on September 13, 2022)
Karen is developing a robust program for the DGT Senior Center which includes computer training class(PRC), Senior Survival series sponsored by FFDGTS and classes through partnerships with libraries and park districts.
The SRC Committee was invited to attend the DGT SAC committee meeting on September 12, 2022 from 1:30-3:00

B. Dementia Friendly Westmont:

Mary Ferguson: Mary spoke on several aspects of having a Dementia Friendly Westmont such as Library Presentations, Citizens Police Academy, November is Illinois Dementia friendly month, creating a sub-committee of the chamber for Dementia Friendly Community and marketing via brochures for the village

C. Spring Expo 2023 and 2023 Scope of work & Calendar: Discuss in September due to time restraints.

D. 2022 August Senior Lifestyle Expo confirmed attendees: Bank Financial, Burgess Square, Cordia Assisted Living, Seniors Helping Seniors, Oasis

E. New Business: Get Involved in SRC
Suggestions: Referral Person/Tracking Referrals, Business to Business, Recruitment Chair, Social Media Chair

3. Old Business

The Expo will be going virtual, waiting for details. No payment has been made.

4. Upcoming Events

The goal of the Business Raffle is to assist the businesses in Westmont. Total raised to date is $5000, raffle tickets worth $4500 will be sold until June 17, 2020 with the winner selected on June 18, 2020

The next meeting is scheduled for September 2, 2022 at The Birches

The purpose of this committee is to promote chamber businesses/organizations whose products, services and resources are for senior citizens and their families. This committee will also keep like minded businesses informed on local resources that can be useful to them and to share business leads.
