The meeting was called to order at 8:00 a.m.

Introductions were made by attendees. Along with many new attendees to chamber and new SRG members

2. Old Business
A. Recap of SRG Senior Health Fair

Slower event; not as many attendees
Similar attendees as last two fair from Naperville & Community House
Discussion about changing the fair to an event & different format to draw more attendees & create a more fun filled event to attract attendees
Discussed Darien Expo on July 31st from 9:30am – 2pm. at the Sportsplex & possible fall event at Mayslake

Dementia Friendly: Mary discussed the Premise Alert program; essentially a well-being check with a form that can be completed for anyone with special needs, disabilities and those certain conditions that the Police and Fire department would be notified with the information ahead of time before heading into a call.
Followed up with the Senior recipient, Jeanne Pantke for Senior of the Year Award.

3. New Business
A. Mark Davis asked for member recommendations for Pet Therapies. Many provided recommendations.

4. Upcoming Event Updates
A. Gaye asked for women to participate in the Golf Outing on June 14th, would like to get some 4-somes together from the SRG.

Don’t need to know how to golf, it’s more of a social event than a serious golf event

Upcoming Events (continued)

Larry has set up a clinic with the golf pro at Twin Lakes prior to the golf outing -11:00am
Larry to send out an email to SRG to see who wants to participate

B. Net Games Ribbon cutting grand opening on May 9 at noon; pickleball courts with food & bar
C. Westmont Family Fun Fest on May 11 – event at the Taiwan Cultural Center; proceeds go to local scholarships. There will be games for kids, food, No cost for entry, cost for food only

The purpose of this committee is to promote chamber businesses/organizations whose products, services and resources are for senior citizens and their families. This committee will also keep like minded businesses informed on local resources that can be useful to them and to share business leads.
